International Women’s Day
Marking International Women’s Day, we had the honor to host a discussion group and panel with successful women from a diverse of sectors, sharing their experiences, challenges and successes, allowing for an inspirational and enlightening morning:
“Luxembourg, though small in size, has shown immense commitment to decreasing gender discrimination and promoting gender equality. (…) and is the country with the lowest pay gap in the world, women are actually payed more than men in Luxembourg by around 0.7%!” Well done to our students Emily O’Dwyer, Roya Osso and Amelie Unger for joining the panel and introducing the morning session!
Despite world-wide efforts which have been made towards, women across the globe continue to encounter obstacles, ranging from limited access to education to facing the threat of gender-based violence, among others.
Only by overcoming the injustices still faced in our current times and by promoting women’s potential across the different sectors of our society, only by acknowledging the valuable role women play in holding our society together, only then can we truly move forward as a collective and strengthened society.
A big thank you to our guest of honor: Tilly Metz (European Parliament), Martina Holbach (Greenpeace activist and Campaigner), Cordula Schnuer (Editor-in-Chief at the Luxembourg Times), Fabienne Hollwege (Artist and Actress) and Kristel Weinreich (Senior Recruitment Officer- LIST) for inspiring our students to become actors for positive change!
