Around 100 class representatives from our European classes S1 to S7 and ACCU took part in an orientation workshop organized by the Teaching and Learning initiative. The workshop was organized by Hannah Flandrin-Jones as part of her orientation activities for the English classes, in collaboration with the coordinator of the French classes and the coordinator of the German classes in the European classes orientation program.
The class representatives brought current challenges from their classes, discussed them in year groups S1 to S7 and worked on concrete, solution-oriented proposals for the school management. The two class representatives from the Welcome/Accueil class were also there and worked together with the S3 year group. Despite some very serious topics, the atmosphere was lively, there was a lot of laughter, and many students got to know each other for the first time.
During the workshop, a support network was created for the class representatives so that they do not have to carry out their tasks in isolation, but can consult with each other and plan joint, coordinated actions. At the end, each year group presented its two most important concerns to the plenary. These concerns will now be collected in a structured manner and shared with the school community.
The workshop is a concrete step toward placing students at the center of our educational work—in line with our school motto, “Care Create Connect.”
