Today, 20 of our LLIS students from different classes and sections S2 to S7 interested in cinema and photography visited Filmland in Kehlen, Luxembourg’s dedicated film studio complex, where sound stages, construction workshops, production offices and post‑production companies share one site and work side by side on local and international projects.
The visit was facilitated by Geoff Thompson from the British & Irish Film Festival Luxembourg, who introduced students to the festival’s work in bringing British and Irish cinema to Luxembourg and highlighted how international co‑productions connect different film cultures.
Four professionals welcomed our group and presented their roles, work environments and current projects:
Paul THILTGES (PTD) – film producer and distributor
Patrick NASSOGNE (MOJA / Absolute Blue) – photographer
Jérôme TEWES (Filmland) – studio manager
Jill KIBBEY (Deal Productions) – production designer
From producing and distributing films to photography, studio operations and production design, students saw how many different skills and professions come together behind the camera.
This visit is part of our school’s orientation programme, designed to help students discover concrete career paths in the creative and audiovisual industries. It was organised by the Orientation Team and made possible with the support of the Parents’ Committee. Many thanks to all partners for opening their doors and sharing their expertise and their precious time.
